Kitchen & Community for Kids (KiCK) started in March 2025 with the humble goal of improving the nutritional levels of children from socioeconomically and historically marginalized communities across India.
We understand that working through a challenge of this scale requires working from the ground up, starting from the very foundation by acknowledging existing gaps – gaps that go to systemic socioeconomic inequities. This is why KiCK prioritises a holistic approach which seeks to pay close attention to and address both micro and macro-level concerns behind nutritional challenges: economic difficulties, lapses in grassroots monitoring and action, and healthcare access.
In the long run, we aim to set up local kitchens and simultaneously build a robust repository of necessary learning resources (including illustrated cookbooks and engaging instructional materials centred on nutritious eating). Through active community engagement, KiCK will also create customised meal plans and lead health camps to support children from underserved communities.
